Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of papyelakay.com and the document-retrieval services we provide ("the Service"). By placing an order or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Papye Lakay helps customers obtain official Haitian government documents — including birth certificates, marriage certificates, police records, academic transcripts, inheritance deeds, archive extracts, and birth-certificate corrections — by submitting the request to the appropriate Haitian authority on your behalf and delivering the resulting document to you electronically.

We are an independent service provider. We are not a Haitian government office and we do not control the timing, accuracy, or availability of the documents the government issues.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. By placing an order, you confirm that the information you submit is accurate and that you have the right to request the document.

3. Pricing and payment

Prices are shown on the request page in U.S. dollars and are charged at checkout via Stripe. Current pricing:

• Birth Certificate — $29.99
• Marriage Certificate — $29.99
• Police Record — $39.99
• Academic Transcript — $24.99
• Inheritance Deed, Archive Extract, Birth Certificate Correction — $150 / $200 / $300 depending on processing speed

Prices may change at any time. The price displayed at checkout is the price you pay for that order.

4. Processing time

Processing time depends on the document type and the speed you select. Standard processing is typically 5–10 business days, expedited 3–5 business days, and urgent 1–2 business days. These are estimates — actual delivery depends on the responsiveness of the Haitian government office handling your request.

5. Refunds

• If we are unable to obtain your document because it does not exist, the relevant government office cannot locate it, or the request is rejected for reasons outside your control, we will refund the amount you paid in full.
• If you supplied inaccurate information that caused the request to fail, we may charge a re-submission fee or refund only the amount paid minus our processing costs.
• We do not refund orders simply because government processing took longer than the estimated window.
• Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of the original order via papyelakayhaiti@gmail.com.

6. Accuracy of your information

You are responsible for providing accurate information at the time of order — full legal name, accurate dates and places, correct shipping address. Errors in the information you provide may delay your order, cause the government to reject the request, or result in a document being issued with incorrect information. We are not responsible for such delays or errors.

7. Document accuracy and acceptance

Documents are issued by the relevant Haitian government office. Papye Lakay does not author, certify, or guarantee the substantive contents of any document. If you discover an error in the issued document, you may need to follow Haitian government procedures to correct it — the "Birth Certificate Correction" service we offer is one such path.

We do not guarantee that any document we deliver will be accepted by a third party (consulate, embassy, school, employer, foreign government, etc.). Acceptance is at the discretion of the third party.

8. Document delivery and download links

Completed documents are delivered by email as a secure download link. The link is valid for 24 hours from the time it is sent. If you fail to download the document within that window, contact us at papyelakayhaiti@gmail.com and we will reissue the link at no charge.

9. Prohibited use

You agree not to use Papye Lakay to:

• Request a document belonging to someone else without their authorization.
• Provide false information or impersonate another person.
• Use any obtained document for unlawful purposes including but not limited to fraud, identity theft, or evading law-enforcement processes.
• Resell, redistribute, or use our service to operate a competing document-retrieval business without our written consent.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Papye Lakay's total liability arising out of or related to your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost opportunities, missed deadlines, or denied applications by third parties.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
